These cute little cactus favour boxes are so easy to make and look so realistic with their gorgeous paper flowers on top.
If you’re having a garden party, they would be perfect for holding sweets or small treats. But if you don’t want to use them as favour boxes, you could give one as a new home gift, or maybe make several and display them in a row on a shelf or a sunny windowsill.
To make your very own little cactus boxes, you will need:
- Cactus Favour Box template (SVG and PDF available)
- Computer and printer to print the PDF templates and instructions
- Digital cutting machine
- Double sided, plain or patterned cardstock (220-250gsm / 80-92lb recommended)
- Thinner card for the flower (160-200gsm / 60-80lb recommended)
- Craft glue / double-sided tape
If you are not using a cutting machine, you will also need:
- Craft knife / scissors
- Scoring tool
- Ruler

TIP 1 : Before assembling the box, try embossing the cactus plant pieces. I did this with all of mine using a small flower embossing folder, and it gives extra texture and a realistic thickness to the plant.
TIP 2 : Once assembled, apply a small amount of white acrylic paint to each spike to create a more realistic look.
These boxes are fun to create, and are so tactile with their (not so spiky) spikes. You can mix and match them in their pots and create different coloured flowers to match a particular colour scheme using scraps of paper. And if you don’t want to use them as favour boxes, they would look great displayed upon a shelf as little storage boxes.
